Install TeoCast and prepare your licensed or Demo Mode setup

Follow this guide to install TeoCast Automation, confirm the required application folders, import a license file and safely update an existing installation.

Windows 10 or Windows 11 Administrator Access Recommended About 10 Minutes

Before installation

Make sure the computer is ready before running the TeoCast installer.

  • Windows 10 or Windows 11
  • Permission to install desktop applications
  • Enough free disk space for the application and station audio
  • A working main audio output device
  • Your TeoCast license file when activating a licensed copy
Recommended: Close other audio and radio automation applications before installation or first launch.

Install TeoCast Automation

Use the official TeoCast installer supplied with your download.

1

Open the installer

Double-click the TeoCast installer and approve the Windows security prompt when it appears.

2

Review the installation information

Read the terms and installation notes before continuing.

3

Allow required components to install

The installer may install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 when it is not already available on the computer.

4

Complete the installation

Wait until the installer confirms that TeoCast Automation has been installed successfully.

Only use an installer obtained from the official TeoCast website or directly from TeoCast support.

Launch TeoCast for the first time

Open TeoCast Automation and allow the initial folders and settings to be prepared.

1

Open the desktop shortcut

Use the TeoCast Automation shortcut created by the installer.

2

Wait for startup to finish

Do not click playback, streaming or scheduler controls until the main interface has finished loading.

3

Confirm the application mode

TeoCast will show the licensed product state or Demo Mode, depending on the available license.

Activate TeoCast Automation

A licensed installation uses a TeoCast license file supplied after purchase.

1

Open the license or activation screen

Use the activation option provided inside TeoCast Automation.

2

Select the TeoCast license file

Browse to the supplied .teocastlicense file and import it into the application.

3

Confirm the licensed state

Verify that the license details are accepted and that Demo Mode restrictions are no longer shown.

4

Keep a secure backup

Store a backup copy of the license file in a secure location outside the TeoCast installation folder.

TeoCast stores imported license information separately from the main station database so normal updates can preserve the licensed state.

Using Demo Mode

Demo Mode allows you to explore the main workflow before purchasing a license.

Session limit

Demo Mode is designed for evaluation and has a limited operating session.

Library limits

Demo Mode supports a limited number of music and station-content items for testing.

Streaming limit

Demo Mode is intended for evaluation and does not provide the full licensed streaming configuration.

Audio Processor access

The built-in processor can be opened and evaluated, while some advanced controls may remain limited.

Demo Mode is not intended for permanent unattended or commercial broadcasting.

TeoCast application folders

TeoCast keeps station data, licenses, logs and other files inside a dedicated application folder.

Data

Stores the main TeoCast station database and application data.

C:\TeoCast Automation\Data\

License

Stores imported license information separately from the main database.

C:\TeoCast Automation\License\

VoiceTracks

Stores or supports recorded voice-track files used by TeoCast.

C:\TeoCast Automation\VoiceTracks\

Logs and Backups

Stores important diagnostic logs and available backup files.

C:\TeoCast Automation\Logs\
Do not manually delete the Data or License folders unless instructed by TeoCast support or when intentionally performing a complete reset.

Update TeoCast safely

Install updates without removing existing station data, license files or other important user content.

1

Close TeoCast completely

Stop playback and streaming, then exit the application before running the update installer.

2

Create a backup

Back up the TeoCast data and license folders before installing an important update.

3

Run the latest official installer

Install the update over the existing copy unless TeoCast support provides different instructions.

4

Verify after updating

Open TeoCast and confirm that the station database, license, playlists, voice tracks and settings remain available.

Normal updates should preserve the Data, License, VoiceTracks, HotkeyTemplates, Backups and Logs folders.
